This ring is suitable mainly for an electric stovetop when using a round-bottomed wok, as it stabilises the wok on the burner. It also helps to conduct the heat around the wok more evenly. It can also be used with a flat-bottomed wok to diffuse the heat from the bottom of the wok and prevent food from burning. For best results use the wider end around the wok.
